The act of travelling involves journeys which result in a change of location. This change in location can be small or very different. When someone uses the term 'Travel' you immediately assume holidays.
Holidays are taken for pleasure, leisure, an escape and many other factors. Escape from everyday life. These holidays can therefore be taken by different forms of transportation. This can include bus, train, airplane, ship, car, and campers. The most popular international travel destination is Orlando, Florida (USA.). This might be as it's the family’s entertainment capital of the world. The second most popular is Sydney, Australia, where the third is London, UK.
Many British people only travel a small distance to there holiday destination. This destination would be on the English coast at the sea side. However, Europe is becoming one of the most popular destinations for UK residents. Travelling has become more accessible to people in recent years. In 2005 66.4 million UK residences went abroad for their holidays. This is a drastic increase compare to 6.7 million travelling abroad in 1971. The most popular form of travel is the aeroplane.
People travel for different reasons, though through travel you become a wiser person yourself. It gives you a chance to see things with a new perspective and gain knowledge about your own culture and others; educating yourself.
Personally I believe that travel is very important, and there are great benefits, which you cannot gain any other way. However, some people have argued that travel is a waste of time. They state that it is too expensive, destroys the environment, dangerous, foreign language and that it is too much hassle. Everyone has there own opinion; but first to gain your own you will need to travel.
